Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition Minecart Patch: A Step Back in Survival Horror History

In an era where survival horror games often prioritize action and gore over tense atmosphere, Capcom's remake of the classic Resident Evil 4 stands out. Released originally for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2005 as part of their 'HD Remaster' series, this reimagined version brought Leon S. Kennedy face-to-face with hordes of undead once again.

The story follows six years after the events of RE2 where you'll play as a now seasoned law enforcement officer tasked with rescuing Ashley from sinister forces known away from home simply put - 'the Umbrella Corporation.' Set in rural Spain during late 2000 fifties Leon must navigate through abandoned mines filled with deadly minecart sequences that test his wits alongside his trusty shotgun equipped handsomeness against hordes upon hordes of infected civilians turned into mindless flesh eating monsters by some sort unknown virus spread via bites or scratches.

Capcom later released an enhanced version for the PC, developed by QLOC, titled 'Ultimate HD Edition' in 2014. A port of Resident Evil 4 HD was also released on the Nintendo Switch and a VR (Virtual Reality) port for the Oculus Quest 2 was released on October 21st, 2021.
